Charitable Giving
BOSTONBEAN® regularly supports the Family Support Fund, meeting the extraordinary needs of patients’ families at Boston Children’s Hospital. As a contributor to this fund, we can help families whose children are treated at the hospital. The fund provides assistance for their emergency needs and the indirect expenses of a child’s diagnosis, treatment and hospitalization, which are often not covered by insurance or any government programs. The Boston Children’s Hospital Family Support Fund covers groceries and food, rent, utility bills and transportation costs to meet families’ needs.
BOSTONBEAN® sponsors the Evening of Hope and Possibility, May Institute’s annual fundraising event which supports May’s life-changing work with individuals with autism, brain injury, and other special needs.
BOSTONBEAN® helps their clients and employees by donating to fund raisers and charities throughout the year such as Best Buddies, Youth Sports, and the Boy Scouts of America and Girl Scouts of the USA. We also supported first responders during the pandemic with donations of coffee, snacks, and cold brew.
School To Life Programs for Students with Special Needs
BOSTONBEAN® proudly contributes to Woburn’s High School “Launch Program” and Wakefield’s High School “School to Life Program”. The community based vocational programs for students, offered through the Woburn and Wakefield Public Schools Special Education Department utilize both school and community instruction. These programs work with special needs students in the community, teaching them life and vocational skills along with their course work. This wonderful program works to help these students live independent and productive lives post-graduation.
BOSTONBEAN® donates the coffee, brewing equipment, and uniforms for the Morning Brew Cafe at Woburn High School and the Warrior Café at Wakefield High School which are coffee shops inside the high school serving teachers and staff. The coffee shop gives them a venue in which to teach the students how to interact with customers and take on job responsibilities such as cashier, food prep and hygiene.
BOSTONBEAN® also enjoys having two students from the program and community work at our office part time each year, interacting with our staff and helping us with some of our daily tasks while further preparing them for graduation and adult life.
